High-Retention ocular corneal contact drug delivery system shortly (H-R-ODDS) developed by Mohan Venkadesan is a systemic and advanced therapeutic approach that is Pharmacokinetically designed to improve drug bioavailability and prolong drug residence time on the ocular surface. The system utilizes specially designed substances as drug reservoirs, enabling sustained and controlled release of medications directly to the cornea. Compared with conventional eye drops, corneal contact drug delivery systems reduce drug loss caused by blinking and tear drainage, thereby enhancing therapeutic efficacy and patient compliance.
